Bienvenue sur le site officiel de la Free Software Foundation Europe. La FSFE a été fondée le 10 mars 2001 dans le but de promouvoir tous les aspects du Logiciel Libre (Free Software) en Europe  et tout spécialement le projet GNU. Elle soutient activement le développement de Logiciels Libres, ainsi que des Systèmes d'Exploitation basés sur GNU comme GNU/Linux. Elle fournit également un centre de compétences aux politiques, juristes, et journalistes, dans le but d'assurer l'avenir légal, politique et social du Logiciel Libre.

Le travail de la FSFE est rendu possible grâce à de nombreuses contributions individuelles, et en particulier grâce aux membres de la Fellowship de la FSFE. En effet, un moyen de contribuer est de s'inscrire dès maintenant et devenir un Fellow, et d'amener d'autres personnes à en faire autant.

Dernières nouvelles FSFE Newsletter 2008-07-08 Dans toute organisation, un certain nombre de tâches font partie des moins populaires auprès de leurs membres. Ce sont ces petites tâches de gestion courante, de tous les jours, des tâches ménagères en somme. Et toute organisation travaillant sous pression a tendance à les accumuler. C'est pourquoi, après le travail intensif de l'année précédente sur la mise en place de la Freedom Task Force, les problèmes levés par les questions antitrust et OOXML, et d'autres sujets encore, la FSFE en a mis quelques-unes de côté elle aussi. Heureusement, après une préparation substantielle et trois jours intensifs, l'Assemblée Générale de la FSFE de juin a pu s'en occuper et raccompagner tout le monde chez soi, hautement motivé et dépositaire d'une liste de tâches complète. La question des standards ouverts a continué de dominer les discussions dans le domaine des TIC avec l'acceptation comme standard, par l'ISO, de la proposition MS-OOXML. La FSFE et de nombreuses autres entités ont suivi ce processus depuis le début et ont des raisons d'être préoccupées par l'état de la normalisation internationale. Prochains évènements First Fellowship meeting in Stuttgart 2008-08-22 There will be a Fellowship meeting at the Unithekle, Allmandring 17, 70596 Stuttgart on Friday the 22th of August at 19:00. This is the first Fellowship meeting in Stuttgart and all Fellows and Free Software supporters nearby are invited to attend. It will be a good chance to get to know each other in person, discuss the possibility of future Fellowship meetings in Stuttgart and to generally have a good time. More information. Stand de la Fellowship à la Braderie de Lille, Lille (France) 2008-09-06 2008-09-07 La braderie de Lille est un grand évenement qui se déroule en plein air pendant le premier week-end de septembre. chtinux, un Groupe d'Utilisateurs Linux de Lille a proposé à la Fellowship de participer à la Braderie. La FSFE, et plus particulièrement le stand de la Fellowship, va attirer nombre de regards curieux, puisque des millions de visiteurs de différents pays sont attendus dans les rues de Lille. Venez découvrez cette ville magnifique et manger quelques spécialités culinaires de la braderie comme des moules! Et surtout venez nombreux soutenir la Fellowship ! He will sit on the 'NESSI Open Source Working Group' panel to discuss the European NESSI project. European Legal Network special interest group meeting in London 2008-09-08 The European Legal Network facilitated by FSFE's Freedom Task Force will hold a special interest group meeting in London to discuss business processes and supply chain management. This meeting will be hosted at the Canonical offices and is invitation only. 'Who Owns Free Software? The Copyright and Patent Debate' speech at OSiM World, Berlin 2008-09-17 Shane Coughlan, Freedom Task Force coordinator at FSFE, will deliver a speech entitled 'Free Software licenses and other questions' at OSiM World at Berlin on the 17th of September. This talk will examine question of ownership, the goal of owning creative work, benefits to consumers and the community and the relationship between ownership and Free Software licences.
